This project emerged after fifteen years of photographing in New Glasgow and the neighbouring towns of Trenton and Stellarton, Nova Scotia, during the dead of winter. Drawn to the stillness of the pristine snow-covered landscape, these photographs emphasize the qualities of light itself, while providing a record of an evolving post-industrial community. Once a prosperous area for mining and manufacturing, these remnants of New Glasgow’s industrial past are preserved in these images, suspended in time, yet showing time’s passage.
