For a quarter century, Eric Landman has quietly crafted extraordinary dry-stone structures throughout Southern Ontario. His work ranges from functional retaining walls and pillars to intricate water features and freestanding artworks. Eric’s philosophy is rooted in the land; he allows the landscape to dictate the design and prefers sourcing local fieldstone wherever possible. The results are sustainable, one-of-a-kind structures built to endure.
Since the winter of 2023, I have been documenting Eric’s process and finished works. My goal is to reflect the distinct character of each project, honoring both the minute details of the stonework and the landscapes they inhabit. These photographs are a visual tribute to Eric’s legacy as a master “waller” and the timeless beauty of his craft.
